NATURAL LIGHTING FAMILY PHOTOJOURNALIST FOR NEW YORK AND SURROUNDING AREAS
Hmm.. I’m not sure if I like to take photos or I just like the sound of that ‘CLICK’…. 😉
My Passion Discovery Story.
I was born in Poland in 1968 with many passions to discover. The very 1st one and the strongest, carried on through very early age but truly discovered as a teenager, was an Architecture. As I recall, as a little girl, I was having most fun spending my free time in quietness enlarging our kind of small city apartment by piece of paper and pencil… my other tool to do this magic was plastic, diamond shaped, bright yellow and blue blocks – constantly creating layouts on the floor – the wall with one of the neighbors just had to go…. I loved it!!!
Then another bigger one:::: I went through love for nature – landscaping – creating outdoor spaces – making my hands dirty and feeling it.
Then the pencil drawing and the oil painting – I was inspired with Russian artist Szyszkin and his pencil drawing technic.
And then furniture and light fixture design.
Some film making too.
Then, in meanwhile, through my years in high school and then in collage, as I remember I would reach for camera occasionally — developing films in our window free bathroom or at school’s darkroom. Looking at my Polish Language Teacher Mr. Alicki, who had ALWAYS camera on, with big curiosity. Then after years working in architectural field and changing continents —- I picked up my sister-in-law’s fancy camera and introduced myself to the digital world, and I was just drowned in to that world…..that was what the very impatient and modern girl needed:::: the things done immediately – no more dark ‘bathrooms’…. So I HAD to have it! My very 1st digital camera, a joke for the real photographers but very serious for me, was the Sony Cybershot. I was all over that cute camera…
My true passion to photography began when my son was born… when after one year I realized that it’s not so easy to work on architectural projects at home while taking care of baby and house…at the same time. So I had to put architecture on the side since stay home mom was my choice and I started working less on projects. Then our house was filled more and more by lots of ‘CLICKS’!!! Till…. one day…..my cute camera broke………what literally broke my heart……. Then I knew for sure that there is a true love to my immature photography!
So step by step, naturally, just like that, my interest was navigating from architecture to photography…………. In meanwhile my sweetest ever daughter was born and my husband made sure that I have better button to press on and I got my new and very 1st Nikon. I just kept taking and taking photos – mainly of my two little beautiful angels. Becoming a mother completely changed my life. There were so many things that I wanted to preserve forever::::: tiny toes, tiny fingers, giggles, silly faces and all the milestones….. I found myself constantly reaching for my camera, trying to capture every special moment. And, that’s how it all began…
And now I would look through that tiny Nikon window 24/7 if I only could – the world looks just much better through there…… for me!!!
Are there any other passions for me to discover? I do not know yet. But I’ll let you know if and when it happens. For now I keep looking through that tiny window…
Ps: Actually I wish I had more time to explore the kitchen life… – I’ve always thought that there is a MONSTER in there so stayed away…but now little by little I’m expending my knowledge and experimenting – of course with my camera ready to ‘CLICK’…
